For a Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach or Main Beach apartment, obtain the lift booking, door opening, usable lift space and route into the receiving room. For a Robina, Labrador or Helensvale house, show driveways, gates, entry steps and interior turns where present. A piano moving between different property types needs a separate access brief for each end. Include the intended room and who will clear the receiving area.
Upright, baby grand and grand piano removals
Identify the instrument type, make, model and dimensions. Upright piano movers need the height, depth and width; for a grand or baby grand, include the overall length, lid position and any information about removable components. Share the confirmed weight where available and mark estimates clearly.
Different piano types need different preparation and support. Any removal of legs, pedals or other components must form part of an agreed preparation method. Give the assessor information about existing damage, loose parts, fragile finishes and any manufacturer handling requirements.
Protective wrapping and piano transport equipment
Piano protection includes moving blankets, padding, wrapping and secure restraints around vulnerable surfaces. Depending on the instrument and route, a piano dolly, piano trolley, supported moving board or powered stair-climbing equipment may form part of the plan.
Protection continues through doorways, stair transitions, loading and unloading. JB assesses the ramps, vehicle interface and receiving space as well as the initial move away from the wall. Equipment support and restraint must suit the instrument’s construction and balance.
Stairs, landings and difficult piano access
Provide stair widths, flight lengths, landing sizes, headroom and turns at both properties. Show steep driveways, uneven paths, individual steps and long carries where present. If a lift is proposed, include its usable internal dimensions, door opening and applicable building instructions.
A rated machine is only one part of a stair move. The piano, machine, protection and crew need enough operating space throughout the route. JB can assess powered assistance for suitable stairs and discuss alternative handling or further inspection when the initial information is incomplete.
Collection, loading, transport and room placement
JB can manage the piano’s complete journey with one moving brief. Confirm the collection contact, the approved vehicle position and the exact room and position required at delivery. The plan should include how the instrument transfers onto and off the vehicle and who clears the final space.
Your piano quote is prepared for the actual collection and delivery route, instrument, equipment and availability. Include the access at both properties so the preparation, supporting crew and transport are assessed together. Tuning and specialist repair should be identified separately from transport.
